South Wales Police seeks to appoint a business intelligence analyst. The purpose of the role is to support the Chief Constable’s Delivery Plan by providing analytical insights into operational and organisational matters, enabling stakeholders at all levels of the organisation to make confident evidence-based decisions about the management of their area.
To be successful in this challenging role, you must have qualifications in mathematics or statistics, or subjects where these represent a significant element of the coursework; alternatively, you must demonstrate at least two years of analytical experience. You will create reports and conduct ad hoc analysis, providing new insights on a range of subjects.
We want to go beyond merely reporting on how things are/were – we also want to know how things might be in the future, and how we can get there. Can you analyse data and tell us how to use it to our advantage? If so, then we’d be very keen to hear from you.
Experience with tools such as Power BI, PowerQuery and DAX would be advantageous but is not essential; please refer to the role profile for full details on the qualifications, skills and knowledge required for this position.
The position is based at Police Headquarters in Bridgend but we operate a hybrid model with a substantial element of remote working.
This role is suitable for part time/job share workers due to operational requirements.
The successful Candidate must be willing to undergo vetting to MV/SC Vetting.
Please be aware that if your current post is within the Public Service Centre, if you were employed after 1st February 2017 you must have completed 2 years’ tenured service before applying for any other roles.
If you are currently involved in a PSD Investigation then you will not be eligible to apply for this role.
