Who we are:

The Chemistry Group is the leading talent strategy consultancy for large companies and enterprises, responsible for giving 2.8million people the opportunity to be brilliant at work. We are founded on the belief that individual and organisational performance are not mutually exclusive. That if we connect people with the place where they can fulfill their potential, it’s not only businesses that benefit - but society too.

Our work has real impact, informing the strategy, diversity, innovation and transformation of our clients.

What the role is:

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced statistician in our Science department. Chemistry’s Science team is working on developing novel measures and assessments while supporting consultants in the delivery of high-quality talent solutions. You will play a critical role in the development and validation of tests and assessment methods and will be a go-to expert for statistical design and analysis. You will directly contribute to the insights we use in our work with clients by performing data analysis and continuously improving methods and processes.

What you’ll do

The role includes:

  • Improving current methods, processes and procedures to ensure high standards across everything that we do.
  • Designing and conducting psychometric and statistical analysis with a focus on using CTT and IRT methods.
  • Overseeing the integrity of tests and assessments to provide accurate item and candidate performance data to support test construction work.
  • Managing item banks to ensure they meet psychometric/statistical needs.
  • Providing advice and support to the Science team on all aspects of statistical design and analysis.
  • Using multiple data sources to provide regular insight and analysis.
  • Acting as a subject matter expert for recruitment tests and assessments and partaking in the design, trialing and delivery of tests and assessments.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of all statistical techniques and developments.
  • Making suggestions to help the smooth running of the Data Analysis.
  • Using the R programming language for statistical computing and graphics.
  • Managing new projects and making sure we deliver high-quality results on time.

Requirements

What you need to know:

  • Advanced statistical analysis and data manipulation techniques.
  • Good knowledge of SPSS, R, and any additional statistical software packages.
  • Very good understanding of psychometric methods, modern statistical and psychometric theories, measurement principles, test design, and validation.

It would be nice if you have:

  • Expertise in the use of CTT and IRT test design and data analysis
  • Knowledge of Bayesian Statistics
  • Experience in use of modern measurement models such as cognitive diagnostic models (CDM) or linear-on-the-fly models (LOFT)

Things you get from the role:

  • Being a member of a small, growing company with rapidly increasing responsibility
  • Access to comprehensive learning resources, all geared to fast-tracking your development
  • The opportunity to work across multiple projects at once
  • The opportunity to directly influence the development of new tests and assessments
  • Flexible working hours and option to work from home

Benefits

Great opportunities

When we say our intent is to give everyone the opportunity to be brilliant at work, of course, we extend that to you.

That’s why we focus on our development and ensure that we provide each other feedback regularly to support each others continuous growth.

And we love to develop and promote our own people, so if you make it through the door, we’ll make sure you have every opportunity to get where you want to go – all you have to do is take it!

Holiday

28 days holiday + UK Bank Holidays
